On the eve of 20th World Blood Donor Day Federation of Blood Donor Organizations of India organized 3 Days National Workshop on 100% unpaid Voluntary Blood Donation in India and Haemovigilance to ensure blood safety programme in India on 14th,15th & 16th June,2024 at NIB, Noida. The 1st World Blood Donor Day was celebrated in the World on 14th June,2004 with thw call of WHO , ISBT, FIODS & IFRCRCS. On 14th June,2004 FBDOI was formed at the historic Science City, Kolkata in 2Days National Workshop for strenthening Voluntary Blood Donation programme in India. Founder president was Dr. Debashis Gupta, Expert in BTS, Working President was Surinder Prasad Trivedi of Jamshed Pur, first centurian blood donor of undivided Bihar state.
During the last 20 years many of our active and office bearer and life members are no more now including Mr S.P.Trivedi and Dr Manmohon Kaur who drafted the constitution of FBDOI. From the Day 1 of FBDOI, 14th June,2004 I am holding the chair of Secretary General till today. This year on 15th June,2024 FBDOI new Governing Body was formed. Now Youtube ,website have become the global archive in the world. I feel it my duty and resposibility to put all those previous glorious activities in the Youtube and websites.
FBDOI has alredy been maintaining website www.fbdoi.org few years after its formation. Now we are launching another website www.fbdoi.wbdd.india on the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day , 1st October,2024 at Constitution Club of India , New Delhi only to explore previous and present activities to be stored in global archive. At the beginning of this website dedicating this in memory of them who supported to form this FBDOI and blessed FBDOI for the VBD Movement .
